Frequently Asked Questions
Here you can find answers to all the questions about our scheduled bus from San Diego to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).
We offer between 6 routes a day, depending on the travel season and what day of the week it is (some days, for example, weekends, are busier at the airport than others). Please go to our booking system and check your specific travel day to see the schedule on this day. The system is up to date and maintained frequently.
You don’t need a flight in order to travel with us. Moreover, we would love to have you with us. It is common for students and friends traveling to LAX to pick up their friends at the airport, and people who simply choose to go with us to get to LA because they would rather use our service than other big companies. You are more than welcome to travel with us whenever it suits you.
Our booking system will ask for your flight info; we use this for analytics and new route configuration. However, if you don’t have a flight, choose the first option from the drop-down menu that says “no flight”, and put the numbers “123” as the flight number. The system will let you pass that page.
YOU NEED TO CALL OR TEXT, OR EMAIL US IF YOUR FLIGHT IS DELAYED BEFORE YOUR AIRPLANE TAKES OFF ON THE RETURN TO THE UNITED STATES. IF YOU DO THIS, WE WILL HELP YOU WITH YOUR DELAY.
We recommend leaving a minimum of 1,5 hours between airplane arrival time and shuttle departure.
If your plane is delayed, in order to serve all of our passengers as best as possible and comply with LAX policies, the bus cannot wait. We operate as a scheduled bus, and we always leave on time. The airport has a very strict policy and allows us only 1 minute for passenger loading. However, if you purchased a reasonable shuttle ticket (1.5 hours after airplane arrival), we’ll make every reasonable effort to communicate with you and get you on the next available van if seats are available. Please reach out to us before your airplane takes off with information about the delay, and it will allow us to react fast. If there is no later shuttle scheduled that same day, we can offer a seat on the earliest bus scheduled to pick up the following day or offer a voucher for the next trip with us.
We operate in the same way as any other bus, train, or even airline company; they leave on time in order to stay on the schedule, and so do we. Working around the airport and airline industry is incredibly tricky, but the only way we can stay in business is to maintain the rules and follow them.
Check the cancellation confirmation email and look for a PDF attachment. In there, you will find a voucher number “VC-XX…“. Copy the number.
Go to the LAX LINQ booking page (laxlinq.com) and begin a new reservation. Process with booking and underneath the payment method section, click on the drop-down menu and choose “voucher” instead of “credit card”. Paste the voucher number in there.
Make sure that the customer name is the same as the original ticket. The voucher is valid for 1 year.
The child fare is $5 cheaper than the standard fare, and it is to be purchased through our booking system. A child is taking a full passenger seat, and it is required by the CA Highway Patrol that it needs to have a seat, therefore we are not able to make any exceptions there.
We offer a child seat. You can rent a child seat (or 2 if needed) at the end of the booking process on our website.
One ticket includes one carry-on and one checked luggage. If you need to bring more suitcases, it is possible to add more during the booking, and each additional check-in suitcase costs $15.
Below is the list of additional items:
– A stroller costs $15.
– The surfboard, golf bag, guitar, or snowboard is $30 – when booking, please specify in the comment section how long your surfboard/snowboard bag.
– The bicycle box is $45.
All items are available to be added to a booking system.
Note: In order to protect shuttle drivers from injuries, they are not allowed to lift bags more than 45 pounds, and if any passenger is traveling with heavy bags, they are required to assist the Driver with loading their personal luggage.
We drop off right at the International Terminal/ Terminal B. We do that because 99% of our customers go to LAX to fly internationally; however, if you need to be dropped off at any other terminal, please let our driver know, and she/he will gladly drop you off at any needed Terminal (as long as it is at LAX).
We have two types of tickets: “Non-Refundable Ticket” and “Flexible Ticket”. Non-refundable tickets do not come with any option for refund. The “Flexible Ticket” comes with the ability to receive a refund up to 24 hours before the scheduled trip. The refund amount for the “Flexible Ticket” is the ticket price minus the $9 insurance fee.
Cancelations within 24 hours of departure time are not possible, and the fare will be forfeited. No-shows are also not refundable or transferable.
If you need to cancel a reservation with LAX Linq, please contact our team at [email protected] or call our customer service line/ WhatsApp at (323) 776-5467.
We recommend at least 1.5 hours from the airplane arrival time for the LINQ shuttle departure to allow sufficient time to board the shuttle. If a passenger doesn’t leave enough time from the airplane arrival to the shuttle departure, it is the passenger’s responsibility to manage to get to the shuttle on time.
The “no-show policy” applies – if you do not board your shuttle, your entire reservation from that point will be canceled, and no refund will apply. Subject to applicable cancellation policies, all fares are non-refundable and non-changeable after departure. Passengers who “no show” or do not cancel prior to departure forfeit the entire value of their “no show” segment. This policy applies to tickets paid in USD.
To cancel, please email us at: [email protected], with your name, ticket number, and cancellation request.
Yes, you can modify your ticket for up to 24 hours at no cost. On the confirmation email, there is a link that allows ticket changes up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. By clicking on the link, you will be brought to the online self-service portal (the same as our booking system). Continuing through the purchase flow, you will select your desired trip and then proceed to checkout. Changing the ticket is super easy, and you will get a new ticket once confirmed.

Our seats are not numbered, and the ticket won’t have any seat assigned. By purchasing a ticket, you are guaranteeing yourself a place on the van. If you arrive at the pickup location first and meet the driver, you can always call “Shotgun!” for your seat, and of course, shotgun rules are respected and always will be.
Unfortunately, we can’t. Our service is low-cost because it is a shared ride. We have a fixed schedule, fixed prices, and 3 (three) pickup locations. This helps to share the cost of the trip. Additionally, limiting the pickup locations helps to ensure timely arrival at the LAX Airport. However, if you are traveling with a large party (up to 14 passengers), we offer a whole van rental as well. For this service, we offer pickup at the one chosen address and at a flexible time. If you are interested in renting the whole vehicle, please contact us at [email protected] and request a quote.

Our schedule is based on a 2 ½-hour to 3-hour commute time; however, Southern California traffic and unforeseen circumstances can affect the commute time, so we ask that everyone plan accordingly when purchasing their tickets.

Stopping the van at a rest stop could cause people to miss their flights or connections, and that is why we ask that everyone take care of any necessary bathroom breaks before the departure. However, if there is a need, we can offer a restroom break at the Oceanside rest stop.
Well, thank you. We believe in this company and its purpose. Traveling between LAX and San Diego can be painful, and we would love to make it easier and cheaper for all parties involved. Since half of our crew is from abroad, we completely understand the need for shared transportation. Additionally, we have a great sense of humor, and we love snacks. Can’t wait to see you!
